Whom do you serve?

"No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money. " Mathew 6:24

This scripture is one you have to dwell on for a while.  Ask yourself are you serving two masters?

We probably would be quick to say No Way!  Am only serving God.  But if we look deeply into our lives there is a possibility that we have carried on serving two masters.

We don't have time to pray, we don't have time to worship, we don't have to praise, we don't have time to study our bible, we don't have time to serve others, we don't have time to share the word of God.  We are just too busy Working.........serving Money.

May God give us the wisdom to know that we don't have to serve money (if you look at the back of a dollar bill it says "in God we trust" so even the dollar is serving God), as a matter of fact, money should serve US,  That way we will ONLY have time to serve one master and that is GOD.

***stop chasing and start chasing GOD.  In doing so money will begin to chase you****
***But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you*** Mathew 6:33

Holding your tongue.....

I have come to realise that alot of times we speak what's on our mind without screening it or taking the time to think about how it will affect the person on the other end.

It's important that we shouldn't be quick to respond when we are angry, holding your tongue is not a sign of weakness but a sign of wisdom.  It allows you to process your thoughts and analyze your response before delivering it.  The bible says "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." Proverbs 15:1.  That tells us that we ought to strive to always give a gentle or soft answer.

Imagine responding to someone who just said something that pissed you off, the initial reaction is to blast the person but the bible says that "When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise."
Proverbs 10:19, the natural thing to do is to show your strength in anger and retaliating words but the Truth is your strength is in holding your tongue and taking a moment to relax and responding with a gentle answer.

May God give us the wisdom to learn how to hold our tongue, it shows we are wise.

Happy New Month!!!!!

Hi Everyone, We are now in the month of September.  Wow, that's 9 months, 244 days into the year 2011.

What are your expectations from God for this new month?

Choose not to be ignorant this new month, one of the ways the devil deceives us is through ignorance.
Let's choose to have knowledge and wisdom this new month.  The bible says "My people perish for lack of knowledge" Hosea 4:6....but this time around......"Study to show yourself approved to God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15.

The understanding of who you are in Christ makes you OUTSTANDING!!

May you begin to see a difference in your life today.  Start each day of this month studying a chapter in the book of Proverbs, let's continue in the Proverbs Project.

GOD BLESS!
